Stuart Spoon, Director of Percussion
Stuart Spoon is an educator, clinician, and performer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He currently serves as Assistant Director and Director of Percussion at Boswell High School, instructing the front ensemble, percussion ensemble and winter drum line, as well as the Boswell Sub Non-Varsity band. Stuart is a graduate of Texas A&M-Commerce, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance and studying with Brian West, Paul Rennick, Nate Buonviri, Kennan Wylie and Michael Varner.
Stuart has also spent over 20 years in the drum and bugle corps activity, as a member, instructor, caption head, arranger and program coordinator. He marched Lone Star Drum & bugle Corps from 1993 until aging out in 1997. After that, he spent ten years on the percussion and program staff at Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps, followed by three years with Revolution Drum & Bugle Corps as a consultant and, later, the Program & Staff Coordinator. He is married to his beautiful wife, Julia, and they have one daughter. In his spare time, Stuart performs with a funk-shuffle band, Kalumet, in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

As a performer, Tyler spent time with two DCI groups: Lone Star and Carolina Crown. While studying percussion at Texas A&M University Commerce, Tyler performed with both the wind ensemble and percussion ensemble, a nationally recognized group under the direction of Dr. Brian West. He also became a cornerstone member of the school's well known indoor drum line, serving as snare section leader for several years, including 2000, when the group finished second at the PASIC marching percussion competition.
Tyler is a member of the Dallas Mavericks Drum Line, and performs regularly for Dynamic Rhythm Entertainment, a Dallas based company that provides customized percussion entertainment for corporate events, church events and weddings. He is also an active clinician and adjudicator across the United Sates and in China, where he traveled last Spring to serve as Guest of Honor and Master Clinician at the first annual National Marching Arts Festival.
Tyler Orbison, Assistant Director of Percussion
Tyler Orbison has been actively involved in music performance and education for over 20 years. He has toured with world-renowned drum lines, outstanding wind ensembles and award-winning percussion ensembles, and has done so from the differing perspectives of performer, instructor and designer. While Tyler has cultivated a love and respect for all music and musicians, his true passion has always been rooted in percussion, an area in which his performing and teaching have positively affected hundreds of people.
Tyler is Assistant Director of Percussion at Boswell High School in Fort Worth, TX where he serves as Percussion Arranger and Battery Coordinator of the marching band, which has earned five straight trips to the Texas UIL state marching band competition. Tyler is also Director, Program Coordinator and and Music Arranger of the Boswell Indoor Drum Line, a two-time NTCA Champion and two-time WGI Houston Regional finalist.
As an educator, composer and arranger, Tyler has experience at every level. In addition to many fine high school groups, he has worked with and designed for several DCI and WGI organizations, including Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps, under Director Roman Blenski, Forte Drum & Bugle Corps, under Director Chris Green and Surround Sound Indoor Percussion, under Director Allen Joanis.
